7 Days Serena Experience detailed Itinerary

Day: 1 | Arrival, transfer Nairobi Serena Hotel

Upon arrival at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, our representative will greet and transfer you immediately to Nairobi.
You will spend the night at the prestigious Nairobi Serena Hotel, known for its exceptional efficiency, service, and hospitality standards.
The Serena is a luxurious and sophisticated hotel, the flagship of the Serena Hotels' world-class accommodations.
Lush tropical gardens surround the hotel and offer breathtaking views of Nairobi's Central Park and the downtown skyline.

Despite its central location, the Serena provides a peaceful oasis amidst the hustle and bustle of one of Africa's most vibrant capital cities.
The Serena Group, established in the mid-1970s to become the leading hotel group in East Africa, has achieved that goal today.
We strongly recommend booking an optional excursion to the Daphne Sheldrick Elephant Orphanage or the Karen Blixen Museum with Giraffe Centre.
Alternatively, you can spend the rest of the day at your leisure.

Days: 2-3 | Maasai Mara Game Reserve

Begin your day in Nairobi with a delicious breakfast and embark on your journey towards the lush highlands of Kenya.
Follow the road constructed by Italian war prisoners during World War II as you travel down the rift escarpment.
While walking through the Valley towards Narok, you'll come across the impressive Longonot Earth satellite station.
You will then pass through vast fields of wheat and barley before finally reaching the Masai Mara.

Driving through the Valley towards Narok, you'll also see the Longonot Earth satellite station.
Upon arrival, enjoy a lovely lunch at the Mara Serena Safari Lodge, the largest property in the Mara Triangle, known for its exceptional animal conservation efforts.
The Mara Triangle spans over 510 km2 and is home to most of the 30-strong population of black rhinos in the Maasai Mara Game Reserve.

Mara Serena offers 74 rooms and is perfect for families seeking the benefits of a fenced perimeter and a central pool.
Undoubtedly, the game drives organized by the lodge will be the highlight of your stay.
Experienced driver guides know the reserve well and will take you to famous animal grazing grounds and watering holes.
Aside from spotting black rhinos in the area, you can also see lions, giraffes, elephants, and zebras in their natural habitat.

The coexistence of predators and prey can lead to thrilling sightings of Africa's abundant wildlife.
For a truly memorable experience, take advantage of the opportunity to book a hot-air balloon flight at dawn (at an additional cost).
The lodge has a hot-air balloon and launch site close to the leading club.

It's an unforgettable experience to watch the sunrise over the reserve.
At the same time, animals come out for their first drink of the day.
After an afternoon game drive, return to the lodge as the sun sets for a well-deserved rest.

Day: 4 | Lake Nakuru National Park

Start your day with a delectable breakfast and immediately hit the road to Lake Nakuru.
Upon your arrival at the lodge, relish a scrumptious lunch before embarking on an afternoon game drive at Nakuru National Park.
This area is teeming with water birds, with flamingos being a particularly famous sight, despite their dwindling numbers.
Moreover, you can witness white rhinos and buffaloes, along with 56 different species of mammals.

At the serene shores of Lake Elmenteita lies the Lake Elmenteita Serena Camp, where you can conveniently check in.
The lake is known for its stunning sapphire-blue waters. This exclusive camp exudes the area's rich history as the Masai people have traversed it for centuries.
The lake's rocky islands are the only East African nesting site for great white pelicans, and its algae and plankton provide food for many rare waterfowl, including vast flamingos.

During the day, game drives offer a serene and private experience, with opportunities to observe an array of different animals, such as zebras, gazelles, elands, waterbucks, buffalos, black-backed jackals, warthogs, dik-diks, baboons, and endangered Rothschild giraffes.
You might also find spotless common species, such as the bushbuck, bushpig, steinbok, reedbuck, duiker, caracal, golden and side-striped jackals.
Night game drives present a unique opportunity to witness nocturnal creatures like the aardvark and elusive leopard.

Walking is allowed, providing chances to experience the marvels of the bush up close.
Nearby attractions include Lake Nakuru National Park and Kariandusi prehistoric site.

Days: 5-6 | Amboseli National Park

Begin your day with an early breakfast and leave the Rift Valley behind.
Head towards Nairobi and collect a picnic lunch before continuing south towards Amboseli.
You will arrive at the famous Amboseli Serena Safari Lodge by late afternoon.
The lodge features indigenous Masai architecture embellished with natural woodcarvings, traditional artifacts, and local artwork.

Enjoy the stunning views of the saltlick and floodlit waterhole from the lodge, where you can witness herds of elephants, buffalo, and wildebeest gathering.
This area is a bird-lovers paradise with over 400 species of birds.
During your stay, you can unwind and appreciate the stunning surroundings and the various amenities offered at the lodge.
Take part in activities such as game drives, morning bird walks with the resident naturalist, and visits to a traditional Masai manyatta.

You can also unwind by watching the game pass by on the veranda, dip in the natural spring-fed swimming pool, or enjoy a relaxing massage.
You can also contribute to Serena Hotels' reforestation program by planting trees to help restore the land damaged by herds of elephants tearing up trees for food.

Day: 7 | Transfer Nairobi, Departure

Before departing Amboseli, take a moment to admire the breathtaking Mount Kilimanjaro after having breakfast.
You will then head to Nairobi, the bustling capital of Kenya, and arrive just in time for lunch.
